The Ignorance of Foreign Media after Ang-Lee Won The Oscar Prize for "The Life of Pi "

When Taiwanese director Ang Lee won the 2013 Academy Award for best director for the "Life of Pi",  the main stream media of America doubted Ang Lee's achievement and adequacy to won this award. Many authoritative media such as USA TODAY, NEWYORK TIMES, LOS ANGELES TIMES, and so on, only mentioned Ang Lee with few words. On the other hand, those mass media pitied "Lincoln" of Steven Spielberg and "Argo" of Ben Affleck did not have good performance in the Academy Award of this year. LOS ANGELES TIMES even made a questionnaire about Ang Lee deserved this year Oscar for best director or not, and it came out 77 percents voters still supported Ang Lee. However, we could realize the exclusivism of foreign media from this event.
After the Academy Award, we saw a sense of nation superiority and hostility from these media. Most of the 6000 juries of Oscar voted for Ang Lee, and this overthrew the way of looking of those objectors. Hollywood(American filmdom) still follows the formula of producing movies and famous directors or actors(actress) would lead to blockbluster. NEWYORK TIMES even announced a jury told them "Lincoln" would won the award, and the reason was,"How can't you vote for American's favorite president." However, movie had nothing to do with this. There are only adventages and disadventages. The eyesight of audience is bright as snow.
